Mitchell County is a county in the U.S. state of Georgia. It was named for David Brydie Mitchell, 27th Governor of Georgia. ==Geography== According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.3%) is water. The bulk of Mitchell County is located in the Lower Flint River sub-basin of the ACF River Basin (Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin).
